Recreational Gymnastics Classes

Recreational gymnastics classes for 5 years upwards are on Monday evenings from 5.00 - 6.00pm and 6.00 - 7.00pm during school term times, at the White Horse Leisure & Tennis Centre in Abingdon.

The gymnasts are put into groups with others of similar ability and work towards gaining proficiency badges in the British Gymnastics Association award schemes, which provides a progression starting at 7 through to 1.

Children also get the opportunity to work on Olympic Apparatus such as Asymmetric Bars and Beam. Those who achieve BGA award 2 can move on to the Bronze, Silver and Gold award schemes and work towards more advanced skills.

Clothing

To prevent children wearing unsuitable clothing for gymnastics the Club has a dress code. Leotards, shorts, t-shirts, etc. can be ordered from the club and we sometimes have a small selection of second hand clothing available. If you have any questions about this please see a coach.

Girls - Club leotard and bare feet

Boys - Club T-shirts, black shorts and bare feet

Waiting List
Unfortunately, we currently have a waiting list for this class (from about 12 months to a few years, depending on age), but if you would like to register your childs name please complete and return this form. We will contact you when there is a space in the group.

All our coaches are British Gymnastics qualified and children are tested each term to enable them to progress steadily.
